1845 American Greek Revival
at 28 Pleasant Street

This home has retained much of the original charm & character throughout the years of owners and renovations. It is a "slab~stack” construction. The 2x4 studs were nailed down horizontally and "stacked”, one~on~top of the next. The end result is a solid wood wall with no air space. This construction is from foundation all the way to the peak of roof gables. (including the cantilevered gable above the elegant, recessed front porch). Structural interior walls are made in the same manor. This type of "Slab~ Stack" framing makes for a very sound proofed and tightly insolated home.
